PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF MARINE HULL INSURANCE CLAIMS: Course III - Collision Liability (6 Nov 2021)

As part of the activities during the Maritime Week 2021, the Institute, in conjunction with Asia Maritime Adjusting (HK), are holding the Course III on Saturday 6th November 2021. The Course I and Course II were awarded 6 CPD points each by the Law Society of Hong Kong, which were acknowledged by the HK Insurance Authority.

AIMS

This is the third one (1) day Course of a series of four being organized by the Institute of Seatransport [IoS] and Asia Maritime Adjusting [AMAdj], to provide a masterclass on the practical application of the principles of marine insurance in handling, adjusting and settling claims, with a view to achieving the objectives of speed, economy, accuracy of settlement, and indeed a satisfied Insurer (and Reinsurer) and Assured. This Course should particularly appeal to claims executives working in offices of ship-owners, ship-managers, insurance companies, insurance brokers etc., as well as maritime claims service providers like surveyors, lawyers and adjusters and also for any practitioners in the maritime industry who may be interested in and/or wish to enrich their knowledge in insurance claims.

MARINE INSURANCE CLAIMS – Hull, Cargo and P&I - Live Online Training Course (8 Sep - 20 Oct 2021)

AIMS
This quality practical in-service training course aims to provide guidance to the attendees, through a mixture of formal interactive lectures, discussions, questions and answers and case studies, to develop their understanding of and enhance confidence and competency in dealing with marine Hull and Cargo insurance and P&I claims.
We will:
(a) Review principle of marine insurance, and the law and practice which underlie much of the claims handling, with particular reference to day-to-day problems
(b) Present practical examples of claims and defences arising from maritime casualties
(c) Examine sample adjustments of claims, and
(d) Discuss sample examination questions
