The Hon. Capt. Lothair Lam has been elected to the Legislative Council’s Transport Functional Constituency (立法會航運交通界) and assumed office on 1 January 2026. In order to dedicate himself fully to serving the transport sector in his new capacity, Capt. Lothair Lam has stepped down as Chairman.

Following a by‑election, Brian Yam has been elected as the new Chairman, and Stockton Chow has been elected as Vice Chairman (External Affairs).

The Institute extends its deepest gratitude to Capt. Lam for his visionary leadership and tireless service, and looks forward to his continued contributions to Hong Kong’s transport and maritime community in his LegCo role.
